GARDEN CITY, NY – The College of Saint Rose suffered a 5-0 setback today at Northeast-10 Conference rival Adelphi.
Senior pitcher Katie Andrews held the Golden Knights (11-21/7-13 NE-10) off the board in 7.0 innings on the mound while only allowing two hits and striking out five batters. She also belted a two-run homerun to center field to give the Panthers (23-16/13-8 NE-10) a 3-0 lead.
Before Andrews' two-run blast, junior third baseman Victoria Wink broke the scoreless tie in the fifth with an RBI double. Adelphi added a couple more runs in the sixth after freshman shortstop Danielle Cutuli was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and junior center fielder Jaclyn Binstock drove in another with a base-hit.

Val Nelson finished 1-for-2 for Saint Rose.

Nicole Wickham surrendered five runs, four earned, with four strikeouts.
The three-game series between the Golden Knights and Panthers resumes tomorrow with a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 pm.
