WATERBURY, Conn.- The College of Saint Rose softball team exploded for a combined 27 runs on 28 hits across two non-conference victories today at Post.
Kelsey Higgins and Alexandra Deeter finished 3-for-4 at the plate, while Marin Frazee had three hits and a walk to reach base in all four plate appearances of the 10-2 game one triumph.Â
Deeter logged a team-high four RBI, which included a two-run home run in game one. Frazee had two RBI and Mattison Muller drove in three runs as well for the Golden Knights in the opener.
Game two saw the Golden Knights take a 17-8 win in six innings. Ellen Fuda went 4-for-5 with a homer, five RBI, and four runs
scored.Â
Higgins scored two runs and drove in three RBI as part of a 3-for-5 effort. Deeter and Maddy Bland were 2-for-4 as well, with both going deep in game two for the Golden Knights.
Bland knocked a two-run first inning homer before Deeter blasted things open with a grand slam in the nine-run top of the sixth.Â
The 17 runs, 16 hits, and 15 RBI totaled in game two all marked respective season highs for the Golden Knights lineup.Â
Saint Rose returns to Haker Field for three of their final four doubleheaders of the spring, starting with a Saturday series against Saint Anselm that is set to begin at 12:00 pm.
