Box Score
ALBANY–American International scored three runs in both the third and sixth innings on the way to a 7-3
Northeast-10 Conference victory against The College of Saint Rose tonight at
Cathy Haker Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex.
Sophomore catcher
Zoe Dubois belted a three run homer for the Golden Knights (8-18/4-10 NE-10) in the seventh. Meanwhile, senior center fielder
Amber Loussedes finished 3-for-4 with a run scored.
Saint Rose had its best chance to do some damage in the fifth. Junior second baseman
Marisa Bird stroked a leadoff base hit up in the middle and then sophomore shortstop
Danielle Brusca and Loussedes both reached on errors to load the bases. However, American International senior left-hander Kelsey Malloy induced three consecutive groundballs to get out of the jam unscathed.
Malloy scattered three hits throughout 5.0 innings of work to run her record to 6-5 on the year. Senior shortstop Haley Marchand went 3-for-5 with two RBI, while freshman right fielder Kristen Steele wound up 3-for-3 to lead the Yellow Jackets (9-18/5-8 NE-10) attack.
Looking ahead, Saint Rose will host New Haven on Friday and Saturday for a three-game NE-10 weekend series. Tomorrow's game gets underway at 3:30 pm and may be seen live on
www.gogoldenknights.tv. Meanwhile, Saturday is Senior Day with a brief ceremony scheduled prior to the 12:30 pm start of the double-dip. American International will host Adelphi on Friday and Saturday.
