Last Time Out: The College of Saint Rose had a 2-0 first inning lead go for naught as visiting Northeast-10 Conference rival American International scored two runs on a bizarre bases loaded double in the third and then took advantage of three errors in the seventh to upend the Golden Knights 5-2 Wednesday afternoon. Saint Rose also hurt itself by stranding 11 runners.
 
Scouting Saint Rose: Senior outfielder Scott Hladik was named the NE-10 Player of the Week on Tuesday after he hit .571 (12-for-21) with a home run, four doubles, nine RBI, and eight runs scored throughout six contests…Junior outfielder Nick Venier has now hit safely in 20 straight games…Meanwhile, Hladik and junior second baseman Ryan Hooker have reached safely in 18 and 17 consecutive games respectively...Junior first baseman Zac Bellinger is batting a team-leading .308 (28-for-91)...He also paces the squad with 16 RBI...Venier is batting .296 (29-for-98) while Hladki is hitting at a .293 (22-for-75) clip...Sophomore right-hander Coby Schwartz is 4-1 with a 3.08 ERA...The Golden Knights have outscored their opponents 30-16 from the eighth inning on this spring.
 
Scouting Adelphi: The Panthers come into the weekend having won four of their past five following Thursday's 6-2 non-league victory against visiting Dominican…Junior center fielder Cliff Brantley and senior third baseman Richard Mejia are first and third respectively among the league's batting leaders…Brantley is hitting (.460 (46-for-100) while Mejia is battign .410 (32-for-78) ...He s also third among the league leaders with 25 RBI, while Brantley has been successful in 14 of his 17 stolen base attempts…He also paces the squad with a .486 on-base percentage and 18 runs scored…Senior right-hander Matt Abramowitz is 1-1 with a 1.80 ERA and is holding opposing hitters to a .171 batting average…Freshman right-hander TJ Santiago has worked a team-leading 34.0 innings…He is 1-1 with a 3.18 ERA.
 
Looking Ahead: Both squads return to the diamond on Tuesday. The Golden Knights have a 3:00 pm date at conference and Upstate Challenge rival Le Moyne, while the Panthers have a 3:30 pm home date versus Pace University.
