Senior right fielder Val Nelson went 2-for-4 with an RBI in tonight's 10 inning setback to Pace.
Box Score

ALBANY–Pace University scored three runs in the top of the seventh and then pushed across five more in the tenth to upend The College of Saint Rose 9-4 in an extra-inning Northeast-10 Conference affair tonight. The game marked the first contest ever under the lights, which were installed this summer, at Cathy Cummings Haker Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex.

Junior shortstop Jeane Drury drove a two-run triple to the right field fence and then scored on a base hit down the left field line by junior first baseman Natalie Gellos in the seventh. Drury again did most of the damage in the tenth with a three-run triple.

Senior right fielder Val Nelson went 2-for-4 with an RBI and senior first baseman Olivia Reeves hit a three-run homer to straight center field in the third to lead the Golden Knights (7-15/3-7 NE-10). It was her sixth round-tripper in the past eight days.

Drury wound up 2-for-5 with five RBI to spearhead the Setters (10-17/8-7 NE-10) attack. Meanwhile, freshman right-hander Kaitlynn Nelson hurled 5.0 innings of one-hit ball and fanned four to pick up the win out of the bullpen.

Looking ahead, both teams have three-game weekend series ahead of them. The Golden Knights will visit Southern Connecticut State, while the Setters will host American International.
