GOLDEN KNIGHTS FALL SHORT AT PACE

Senior guard Kareem Thomas scored 12 points with eight rebounds in tonight's 59-54 defeat at Pace.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY–Pace scored the last nine points en route to a home 59-54 Northeast-10 Conference win versus The College of Saint Rose this evening.
 
Senior guard Kareem Thomas nailed a 3-pointer with under two minutes remaining to afford the Golden Knights (12-11/9-8 NE-10) a four point lead at 54-50. However, senior guard Denzel Primus-Devonish quickly matched the 3-pointer for Pace (6-16/4-12 NE-10) followed by a layup from senior forward Jamaal James with 40 seconds left to give the Setters the lead. Primus-Devonish went 4-for-4 from the charity stripe in the final seconds to secure the final margin.
 
Senior center Dominykas Milka shared the game-high of 16 points along with nine rebounds for Saint Rose. Thomas added 12 points, eight rebounds, and a pair of steals.
 
James also scored 16 points for the Setters, leading four players in double-figures. He added seven rebounds. Primus-Devonish nearly posted a "triple-double" with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists to go with three steals.
 
The Setters hit five, 3-pointers in the first half and pulled in seven offensive rebounds on the way to a 33-29 halftime lead. Additionally, Pace made 14 field goals with 11 assists as Primus-Devonish dished out six while James scored 12 points. Milka put up nine points and five rebounds in the half.
 
After showcasing his passing in the first half, Primus-Devonish scored all of his points in the second half including 6-of-6 from the free throw line. Meanwhile, Thomas scored eight in the half for the Golden Knights.
 
Milka originally gave Saint Rose a late lead of 51-50 prior to Thomas' 3-pointer. Milka's bucket was the first for either team in nearly six minutes as the score sat at 50-49 in favor of Pace. Senior guard Dan Mundweiler accounted for the previous basket behind a trey with nearly eight minutes remaining.
 
Looking ahead, the Golden Knights resume the year-long "Upstate Challenge" rivalry series at Le Moyne on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm. Meanwhile, Pace travels to West Haven, CT for a 1:30 pm contest at New Haven.
