ALBANY-The College of Saint Rose was held without a field goal throughout the final 3:41 that allowed Northeast-10 Conference rival Stonehill to hold on for a 75-73 victory at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium earlier today. The Golden Knights rallied from a 10 point, 67-57, deficit with 7:42 remaining to make it a one possession game throughout most of the last five minutes, but were never able to get over the final hurdle.

After senior guard Dan Mundweiler canned the second of two free throws with four seconds left to make it a two-point ballgame, Saint Rose (10-10/7-7 NE-10) fouled intentionally. Stonehill sophomore guard Adam Bramanti subsequently missed the front end of a one-and-one, which afforded the Golden Knights one more look. However, sophomore forward Tyler Sayre had his off-balance 30-foot jumper come up short as the final buzzer went off.

Overall, the Skyhawks (6-13/3-11 NE-10) outrebounded Saint Rose 17-10 on the offensive glass that led to a 17-9 advantage in second chance points. They also outscored the Golden Knights 28-20 in the paint.

Sayre finished with 27 points and 10 rebounds and senior guard Kareem Thomas had a career-high 21 points to pace the Golden Knights. Senior center Dominykas Milka also had a "double-double", his 16th of the year, with 13 points and 10 boards to become only the 12th player in program annals to amass 1,400 career points. He furthermore tied his career-high with eight assists.

Meanwhile, sophomore forward Pierce Cumpstone had 18 points and 11 boards in 29 minutes off the bench for Stonehill, which snapped a three-game skid and picked up its first road win of the season. Bramanti wound up with 16 points while freshman forward Ryan Logan had 11 points and 10 boards.

Following today's game, Sayre was recognized as the Capital Region Chapter of the Saint Rose Alumni Association Player of the Game as part of the annual "Alumni Day" festivities.

Looking ahead, both teams are on the road this Wednesday for 7:30 pm league contests. Saint Rose travels to Springfield, MA to face American International while Stonehill goes to North Andover, MA for a matchup with Merrimack.
