Dominykas Milka recorded his 15th "double-double" of the season and 37th of his career with 23 points and 14 rebounds for the Golden Knights. Furthermore, sophomore forward
Tyler Sayre and senior guard
Kareem Thomas each finished with 17 points and four rebounds. Senior guard Jasper Grassa converted five treys on the way to 23 points for Bentley, which snapped a two-game skid.
Last Meeting: Stonehill maintained a double-digit lead for a majority of the second half to hold off Saint Rose 71-61 last January 12 in Easton, MA. Milka led the Golden Knights with game-highs of 18 points and nine rebounds. Thomas hauled in a career-high eight boards to go along with 13 points. Furthermore, Andre Pope became the 20th player in school history to amass 1,200 career points as he scored 11 throughout the afternoon. Pope also added a season-high four steals as well as a like number of rebounds and assists. Brian Hamor paced Stonehill with 17 points.
The Series | Stonehill 10-8: Stonehill has won nine of the last 10 meetings, include six straight, in the series that dates back to the 1998 NCAA Tournament.
Alumni Day: Admission to today's game is just three dollars for all Saint Rose alumni. Also, the Capital District Chapter of the Saint Rose Alumni Association will present a trophy and certificate to the "Player of the Game".
Scouting Saint Rose (10-9 | 7-6 NE-10): Saint Rose has split its last six games and has not dropped two straight since early January…The Golden Knights have averaged 90.0 points on 50.1 percent shooting throughout those six contests…Sayre was named the NE-10 Player of the Week on Monday…It was the second time this season he has been recognized as such…Ten of the squad's 19 contests have been decided by five or fewer points…The Golden Knights are 5-5 in those encounters….Milka is one of only five players in Saint Rose annals to record more than 1,000 points (1,387) and 800 rebounds (864)…He is second among the nation's active leaders with 37 career "double-doubles" while his 864 boards place him third within that demographic…Milka currently stands fourth in the country with a league-leading 12.5 rebounding average…He is furthermore third among the NE-10 scoring leaders with 20.8 points per-game, while Sayre stands fourth at 19.6 ppg…Milka has scored at least 20 points in each of the last eight games...The Golden Knights nine losses have come against opponents that own a 112-41 (.732) collective record entering this afternoon.
Scouting Stonehill (5-13 | 2-11 NE-10): The Skyhawks have dropped their last three games and are 0-7 on the road...Five players average at least 9.6 points per-game and not one sees more than 31.0 minutes of playing time…Stonehill is fifth in the league in both 3-pointers made (8.3) and 3-point attempts (23.4)...Junior forward Jack Cole is fifth in the league in rebounding (8.4)...The Skyhawks have 10 underclassmen, including four starters, on their roster…Head coach Chris Kraus, an '06 Stonehill graduate, is in his first year at the helm after serving for three years as an assistant to former head coach David McLaughlin…Kraus is the first alumnus to direct the Skyhawks.
Up Next: Both squads have 7:30 pm conference road dates this Wednesday. The Golden Knights will head to Springfield to take on American International, while Stonehill will travel to North Andover, MA to face Merrimack.
