ALBANY-The College of Saint Rose took the 18th and final lead in the waning seconds to upend
Northeast-10 Conference rival Saint Michael's 94-92 at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium tonight. The contest also featured 12 ties between a pair of squads that each shot better than 50.0 percent from the floor on
Student-Athlete Academic Appreciation Night.
Senior guard
Dan Mundweiler drained a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 4.1 seconds to go and sophomore forward
Tyler Sayre ascended the 30-pont mark for the fourth time this year to lift the Golden Knights (10-8/7-5 NE-10) to their seventh victory in eight home dates this season. Saint Rose also buried a season-high 11; 3-pointers at a 57.9 percent (11-for-19) clip and turned the ball over just seven times.
Sayre wound up with 32 points thanks to 11-for-18 shooting from the floor and an 11-for-11 effort from the foul line to pace four players in twin figures. He also had seven rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals.

Dominykas Milka registered his 14th "double-double" of the season and the 36th of his career behind 21 points and 13 rebounds. Furthermore, senior guard

Mical-Ryan Boyd tossed in 13 points apiece.
After the teams walked into the locker room deadlocked 45-45 at intermission, the Purple Knights (11-5/6-5 NE-10) built a seven point lead on the three occasions in the second period. The final time came at 74-67 with 7:01 to go when Saint Rose responded with an 18-10 run that afforded them a one point, 85-84, advantage with 2:42 remaining. Isaiah Cosbert drilled a trey to account for the scoring output.
The lead subsequently changed hands five more times down the stretch until Mundweiler came through for the Golden Knights. Regardless, there was still time for more drama. Thomas came up with a steal on Saint Michael's next possession, but missed the front end of a one-and-one after being fouled with two ticks left.
The Purple Knights then called a timeout to set up a last play having to go the length of the court. Junior forward James Cambronne's ensuing 35-foot turnaround jumper bounced off the front of the rim as the buzzer sounded.
Junior guard Mike Holton, Jr. paced four Saint Michael's players in twin-figures with 22 points. Cambronne finished with 21 points and nine rebounds, while junior forward Mike Thompson wound up with 14 and eight. Junior guard Corey Crawford II also had 14 points to go along with a game-high seven assists.
At intermission of tonight's game, 138 Saint Rose student-athletes were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements throughout the past year. The event was presented by

Looking ahead, the Golden Knights have a bye this weekend before heading to Waltham, MA to face conference rival Bentley next Wednesday, January 29. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm as part of a league doubleheader. Meanwhile, the Purple Knights are back on the hardwood this Saturday, January 25, when they are scheduled to entertain NE-10 foe Pace University in Colchester, VT.
