The Plot: The College of Saint Rose hosts Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Divisional rival Southern Connecticut State for a doubleheader today to conclude a three-game weekend set. First pitch at Cathy Cummings Haker Field is scheduled for 12:30 pm.

2012 vs. Southern Connecticut State (0-2): Host Southern Connecticut State put up a combined 19 runs and coupled that with a pair of solid pitching performances to sweep a doubleheader against Saint Rose last April 9 in New Haven. The Owls took game one 8-3 and then took advantage of five Golden Knights' errors to walk away with an 11-0 triumph in game two.

Last Time Out: Saint Rose could only muster one hit throughout the first six innings and thus Southern Connecticut State was able to walk away with a 7-0 victory in the opener on Saturday. Junior center fielder Amber Loussedes, sophomore left fielder Kari Bird, and freshman shortstop Danielle Brusca accounted for the three Golden Knights singles on the day. Meanwhile, Southern Connecticut State sophomore right-hander Kelsey Cockrill faced just two batters above the minimum while fanning eight and surrendering only one walk to improve to 11-6 on the year. Junior first baseman Kelsey Marden, senior third baseman Alyssa Downs, and junior left fielder Julie Muscarella all had two hits and an RBI to pace the Owls.

Saint Rose Diamond Notes: Loussedes and Kari Bird have each manufactored six sacrifice hits...Loussedes extended her hitting streak to eight games after yesterday's first inning single...Freshman pitcher Nicole Wickham is seventh in the NE-10 with 87.2 innings of work under her belt.

Southern Connecticut State Diamond Notes: Southern Connecticut State has won four straight games...The Owls have drawn a conference leading 99 walks...Cockrill moved to fourth in the conference with a 1.69 ERA after yesterday's shutout victory...Downs leads the team with 12 extra base hits.

Up Next: Both teams host single games on Tuesday with Saint Rose facing American International at 3:00 pm while Southern Connecticut State welcomes Pace at 4:00 pm.
