Game Coverage: Live Stats | NE-10 Standings

The Plot: The College of Saint Rose hosts Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Divisional rival Southern Connecticut State today to begin a three-game series. First pitch at Cathy Cummings Haker Field is scheduled for 3:00 pm with the remaining two games starting tomorrow at 12:30 pm.

2012 vs. Southern Connecticut State (0-2): Host Southern Connecticut State put up a combined 19 runs and coupled that with a pair of solid pitching performances to sweep a doubleheader against Saint Rose last April 9 in New Haven. The Owls took game one 8-3 and then took advantage of five Golden Knights' errors to walk away with an 11-0 triumph in game two.

Last Time Out: Saint Rose allowed a lead to slip away and fell short in a rally during a doubleheader defeat, 4-3 and 2-1, at non-conference foe Post University on Thursday. Junior outfielder Olivia Reeves went 3-for-6 with two doubles and an RBI. Junior outfielder Amber Loussedes also tallied three hits and an RBI to go with a stolen base. Freshman right-hander Ashlee Frazier struck out four in 6.2 innings in the opener while freshman right-hander Nicole Wickham did not walk a batter to go along with three strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work in the second game.

Saint Rose Diamond Notes: Loussedes has put together a seven-game hit streak. She also leads the team with a .409 (9-for-22) average with runners in scoring position. The Golden Knights are 4-1 when leading after the third inning.

Assumption Diamond Notes: Sophomore pitcher Kelsey Cockrill's 1.81 ERA ranks fourth in the NE-10. Cockrill is also third in the league with nine wins and fifth with 11 complete games. The Owls have drawn a conference leading 98 walks.

Up Next: Both teams return tomorrow to conclude the weekend series at 12:30 pm for a doubleheader at Haker Field.
