CLERMONT, FL – The College of Saint Rose split a pair of games today at the NTC games with a 9-5 setback to Cedarville followed by 5-2 win versus Wilmington, the team's first victory of the 2012 campaign.

For the second time in three days, Cedarville (7-3) was able to get past the Golden Knights (1-5) in Florida.  The Yellow Jackets got on the board in the bottom of the first inning when sophomore outfielder Rachel Bull scored after drawing a leadoff walk.  Cedarville then tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the second followed by a run in the third and four more in the fourth.

Freshman infielder Danielle Brusca was able to drive in two runs in the top of the third on a double for Saint Rose.  Following that, the Golden Knights managed to score in a run each in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings.  However, they were unable to close the final gap.

Freshman catcher Zoe Dubois connected on a double in the fourth and then hit her first collegiate home run in the sixth to account for two RBI.  Junior outfielder Olivia Reeves and sophomore designated player Marisa Bird joined Dubois with two hits in the opening game.

Playing into the top of the seventh inning with the scored tied 2-2, Saint Rose scored three runs in the final inning to capture its first win of the season against Wilmington in the nightcap.  Reeves was responsible for the go-ahead RBI as she drove in junior outfielder Amber Loussedes  from second base.  Senior infielder Rachel Reed provided the insurance with a two-run triple that plated Reeves and Brusca, who walked earlier in the inning.

Reed finished the game 3-for-4 while Reeves added two more hits to finish the day a combined 4-for-8.  Brusca added two walks to her day in the second game and Marisa Bird collected three hits in the two games.  On the mound, freshman right-hander Nicole Wickham earned the win behind five strikeouts in 7.0 innings of work.

The Golden Knights are in action early tomorrow for another set of games in Clermont.  At  9:00 am, Saint Rose faces West Virginia Wesleyan, who was ranked #15 in the latest NFCA Coaches' Poll, followed by an 11:00 am start against Wayne State.
