ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose will play its final home weekend series of the year starting today when the Golden Knights host Southern New Hampshire University in a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader. Game one is slated to start at 12:15 pm from Cathy Cummings Haker Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex.
Last Time Out
A second inning solo home run allowed host Adelphi to complete an NE-10 sweep against Saint Rose on Wednesday. The Panthers won the opener 4-0 and then spoiled an outstanding outing by Golden Knights freshman right-hander
Lauren Sputo with a 1-0 victory in the finale. Sputo faced just four batters above the minimum and allowed only a round-tripper to Adelphi senior first baseman Amanda Krier. Sputo scattered three hits throughout 6.0 innings of work. Sophomore designated player
Olivia Reeves finished 2-for-4 and freshman center fielder
Kari Bird wound up 1-for-1 to lead the Golden Knights offense. In the first game, the Panthers scored once in both the first and second innings and added two more in the fourth, which proved to be enough for senior pitcher Devon Kelly who allowed just three singles in a complete game victory. Freshman catcher
Alexis Williams, junior first baseman
Rachel Reed, and sophomore left fielder
Val Nelson accounted for the three Saint Rose base hits.
