Last Time Out
Saint Rose capped its stay in Florida with a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader versus Stonehill College Saturday afternoon. The Skyhawks took the opener 11-3 in five innings and then claimed a 5-1 triumph in game two. In the opener, the Golden Knights cut into a 7-0 deficit with three runs in the top of the third. Sophomore outfielder Olivia Reeves delivered a two-run single to cap the scoring in the frame. However, it was all the run support Saint Rose could muster. Stonehill responded with four more runs in the bottom of the fourth and held the Golden Knights scoreless in the top of the fifth to secure the victory. Reeves and freshman infielder Marisa Bird each went 1-for-2 to provide the lone base hits of the contest for Saint Rose. In game two, Reeves grounded out to plate senior infielder Kayla Kuilema that made it a 2-1 ballgame in the top of the sixth. Stonehill once again found an answer via three runs in the bottom of the frame to provide the final margin. Freshman right-hander Lauren Sputo fanned six and yielded three earned runs in 5.1 innings in the circle for the Golden Knights.
