The Plot: The College of Saint Rose welcomes league leader Adelphi to the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium this evening. The Golden Knights are playing the second leg of five home games within a six game stretch, while the Panthers are aiming to run their road record to 8-2 on the year.

Last Time Out: Senior guard Rob Gutierrez poured in a career-high 29 points, but it was not enough as visiting Southern Connecticut State walked away with an 80-71 victory Saturday afternoon.

Gutierrez hit 10-of-17 shots from the floor and also hauled in nine rebounds in a workmanlike 39 minutes of action for Saint Rose. Senior forward Brian Hanuschak secured his 19th career “double-double” via 16 points and 14 boards. Hanuschak furthermore moved past Shanty Robinson ('09) into seventh place on the school's all-time rebounding chart (696).

Freshman guard Tylon Smith was one of three players in twin-figures for Southern. Smith filled up the box score to the tune of 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Junior forward Trevon Hamlet tossed in 16 points, while sophomore guard Greg Langston added 10.

Last Meeting: Saint Rose roared back from an early 22 point deficit to get back to within a point, but could not get over the final hurdle in a 60-56 loss at Adelphi back on November 30 on Long Island.

Saint Rose kept chipping away at its deficit to eventually get to within 46-45 with 4:02 remaining after junior guard Andre Pope buried a free throw. However, the Panthers remained out front by going 12-for-14 from the stripe throughout the final four minutes.

Sophomore forward Jin Hong had career-highs of 16 points and five rebounds in 17 minutes off the bench for the Golden Knights. Hanuschak wound up with 11 points and four boards as the lone other player in twin figures. In the process, Hanuschak became just the12th player in school annals to register 600 career rebounds.

Meanwhile, junior guard Cliff Brown paced four players in double-figures scoring for the Panthers who ran their win streak to four games. Brown wound up with 13 points thanks in part to a 3-for-4 shooting effort from the arc.

Scouting Saint Rose (4-17/4-13 NE-10): Tonight marks the second leg of a five of six at home to close out the regular-season for the Golden Knights…Hanuschak and Pope are five and 28 points away respectively from becoming the 26th and 27th players in program history to score 1,000 career points…The former moved past Shanty Robinson ('09) into seventh place on the school's all-time rebounding chart (696) on Saturday…Gutierrez leads four double-figure scorers at 13.0 points per-game…He is also tied for seventh in the league at 1.7 steals per-outing...Sophomore center Dominykas Milka is averaging 11.6 points and 5.6 rebounds in 22.2 minutes of reserve duty, while Hanuschak and Pope are averaging 11.3 ppg and 10.9 ppg respectively…The latter also hauls in a team-leading 6.4 boards on a regular basis, has been in double-figures scoring for four straight games, and is shooting a league-best 60.7 percent (99-for-163) from the floor...He furthermore became just the fourth player in school annals to register 100 career blocks at Le Moyne last Tuesday...Milka was named to the Capital One/CoSIDA District 1 Academic All-America® Team yesterday.

Scouting Adelphi (16-5/13-4  NE-10): Adelphi is coming off of Saturday's 63-55 victory at American International…The Panthers have now won five of their last six, including three straight, to remain atop the league standings that are separated by a mere four losses between second and 10th place…They pace the NE-10 in free throw percentage, are second in scoring defense and stand third in field goal percentage defense…Adelphi is shooting 74.0 percent (282-for-381) from the stripe, and is limiting opponents to 59.8 points by holding them to 40.3 percent (434-for-1076) shooting from the floor…Senior guard Robert Johnson and junior guard Chris Ranglin are the lone double-figure scorers…Johnson is averaging 13.3 points, while Ranglin is scoring at a 10.6 ppg clip.

Athletic Recognition Night: More than 40 Saint Rose student-athletes will be recognized at halftime of tonight's contest for their outstanding athletic achievement during the past 12 months.

Up Next: Both squads get back to league action Saturday. The Golden Knights have a 3:30 pm date at Pace University in Pleasantville, while the Panthers return home to host Assumption.
