The Plot: The College of Saint Rose is aiming to bounce back from its lone loss of the year and improve to 5-0 at home. Meanwhile, Assumption is looking to remain the lone undefeated team in the
Northeast-10 Conference.
Last Time Out: Saint Rose suffered its first defeat of the 2012-13 campaign with Saturday's 64-59 setback at NE-10 rival Pace University. The Setters shot 75.0 percent (12-for-16) from the foul line, while the Golden Knights (5-1/3-1 NE-10) converted an uncharacteristic 54.5 percent (6-for-11) after entering the game burying a league best 81.3 percent (87-for-107) from the stripe. Ultimately, the Setters sealed it down the stretch. They scored six unanswered points during the final 38 seconds that allowed them to overcome a one point, 59-58, deficit after Saint Rose junior guard
Dan Mundweiler drained a 3-pointer from the left side of the key. Junior forward
Dominykas Milka scored 19 of his 23 points in the second half and hauled in 18 rebounds before fouling out with 1:14 remaining to lead the Golden Knights. It represented his fourth “double-double” of the year. Senior forward Keon Williams led the Setters who snapped a two-game skid. Williams finished with 23 points and nine rebounds while junior forward Jonathan Merceus registered 13 points and 11 boards
Last Meeting | Assumption 60-55 (2/14/12 at Saint Rose): Saint Rose erased an 11-point second half deficit, but came up empty on its final two possessions that allowed visiting Assumption to walk away with a 60-55 victory. The Golden Knights did not help their cause by shooting a season-low 27.4 percent (17-for-62) from the floor. They were furthermore held without a field goal over the final 4:10 as the Greyhounds scored the game's final five points to escape after they built an 11-point cushion with 12:53 to play. Milka had 19 points and 14 rebounds to lead Saint Rose. Brian Hanuschak added 14 points and eight caroms. Additionally, senior guard
Andre Pope became the 27th player in school annals to record 1,000 career points after finishing with 10. Assumption had three players in twin-figures as well. Senior guard Kevin Donahue ended up with 18 points. Senior forward Ronson Quick was right behind him with 17, while fellow senior forward Tim Beinert had a “double-double” via 12 points and 14 rebounds.

Scouting Saint Rose (5-1/3-1 NE-10): The Golden Knights have held their first six opponents to 62.7 points on 40.7 percent (140-for-344) shooting from the floor. They have furthermore outscored them by an average of 12.0 points and own a +2.3 turnover margin. Saint Rose is 10th in the country with a league-leading 78.8 free throw percentage (93-for-118). Four different players have led the Golden Knights in scoring throughout their six games to date. Milka has already recorded four “double-doubles” on the year. He is averaging a league leading 11.7 rebounds while his 16.5 scoring average puts him sixth in the NE-10. Saint Rose has won five of first six games for the fourth time in the last 10 years.
Scouting Assumption (7-0/5-0 NE-10): The Greyhounds stand atop the NE-10 and are the only remaining undefeated team in the league. They surrender only 59.9 points per-game, second best in the NE-10, and own a league-leading +7.0 rebounding margin. Senior guard Ryan Rozsnaki is averaging a league-leading 7.6 assists while sophomore guard Terrance Bobb-Jones is third with a 2.1 steals average. Quick paces four double-digit scorers with 16.1 ppg on the strength of 40.7 percent (11-for-27) shooting from the arc. Donahue and Bobb-Jones are averaging 13.3 ppg and 12.7 ppg respectively, while Beinert is tossing in 12.0 ppg. Rozsnaki is hauling in a team-high 8.9 rebounds per-game.
