Box Score
ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose kept its unblemished record intact with an 84-68 victory against visiting
Northeast-10 Conference rival Adelphi tonight at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.
The Golden Knights (5-0/3-0 NE-10) shot 54.2 percent (26-for-48) from the floor, turned 21 Panthers turnovers into 27 points, and put four players in double-figures for the third time this year.
Junior center
Dominykas Milka led the way with 18 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals. Freshman forward
Tyler Sayre wound up with 19 points and six boards, while senior guard
Andre Pope and junior guard
Dan Mundweiler tossed in 17 and 10 respectively.
Senior forward Bradley Simpson and senior guard Chris Ranglin had 10 points each to lead Adelphi (2-4/1-2 NE-10).
Saint Rose owned a 12 point, 39-27, lead at the break and led by as many as 19, 61-42, midway through the second half after Sayre drained a jumper in the paint.
However, the Panthers refused to go away and proceeded to go on a 21-8 run that made it a six point, 69-63, ballgame with 2:33 remaining. Freshman guard Anthony Labroia ignited the spurt with a 3-pointer and senior guard RJ Samuels capped it by finishing inside. However, the Golden Knights went 11-for-11 from the foul line down the stretch to remove any chance of an Adelphi comeback.
Looking ahead, Saint Rose returns to action Saturday with a 3:30 pm conference date at Pace University in Pleasantville. Meanwhile, the Panthers are home Saturday with a 3:30 pm scheduled tip-off versus Assumption on Long Island.
