EASTON, MA – The College of Saint Rose closed out its 2011 campaign with a pair of slugfests today at Northeast-10 Conference rival Stonehill College. The two teams pounded out 60 hits collectively and ultimately the host Skyhawks came out on top in both ends of the doubleheader behind 17-7 and 16-11 victories at Lou Gorman Field.
Stonehill (30-15/13-10 NE-10) owned an 8-2 lead through four innings and then broke open the first game by scoring nine runs in the seventh. The Golden Knights (17-28/9-17 NE-10) scored twice in the third, three times in the fifth and added one in both the eighth and ninth.

Garret Keenan both finished 3-for-5 with a double, while sophomore catcher #A.J. Capone# went 2-for-4 with three RBI to lead the Saint Rose offense.
Junior left fielder Rich McHugh, senior first baseman Angelo Bruno and junior designated hitter Kyle Shepard all homered in the seventh for Stonehill. McHugh finished 3-for-4 with five RBI to spearhead the 16-hit Skyhawks attack.
In the finale, Saint Rose scored in all but the first, second and seventh innings; but Stonehill pushed across six runs in the third and seven more in the seventh after the Golden Knights pulled to within 9-8 an inning earlier.
Price and Keenan again did most of the damage for the Golden Knights. Keenan finished 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI and Price went 4-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored. Furthermore, senior first baseman
Grant Smith drove in three runs.
Junior Michael White went 4-for-6 with a home run, while McHugh and senior second baseman Nick Narducci had three hits apiece for Stonehill.
