WEST HAVEN, CT –Senior guard
Ashley Rath tossed in 18 points and The College of Saint Rose held host New Haven to just 29.9 percent (20-for-67) shooting en route to a 64-50 victory in what marked the

Senior guard
Ola Shajuyigbe finished with 15 points and senior center
Ali Johnson wound up with a dozen for the Golden Knights (3-0/1-0 NE-10) who had nine players record at least 10 minutes of playing time.
Saint Rose owned a 36-19 lead at intermission and boosted its margin to 19 after Johnson opened the second half by finishing in the paint. However, the Chargers whittled away at their deficit and were within five, 44-39, when freshman guard Monica Schacker drained a 3-pointer with 11:48 to play.
Shajuyigbe and Rath then responded with a pair of 3-pointers of their own within the next two minutes and the Golden Knights subsequently led by twin-figures for all but 30 seconds the rest of the way.
Sophomore forward Ayana Duncanson registered a “double-double” behind 12 points and a like number of rebounds in just 21 minutes, while freshman forward Bria Moore tossed in nine points and hauled in eight caroms to pace the Chargers.
Up next, the Golden Knights will host Le Moyne on Tuesday at 5:30 pm as part of the inaugural year long "
Upstate Challenge” that the two schools announced earlier this fall. Meanwhile, New Haven has a non-league 1:00 pm date against visiting Holy Family on Saturday.
