WORCESTER, MA – The College of Saint Rose suffered its second straight setback after opening the year 5-0 with a 67-57 loss at Northeast-10 Conference rival Assumption tonight.
The Golden Knights (5-2/2-2 NE-10) shot just 29.4 percent (5-for-17) from the arc and made only six trips (4-for-6) to the free throw line. The Greyhounds (6-1/4-1 NE-10) on the other hand buried 45.0 percent (9-for-20) of their attempts from international waters and made the most of their 13 visits (12-for-13) at the line to rebound from their lone loss of the year, Sunday's 78-71 defeat at Le Moyne.

Dana Brown led the Saint Rose scoring parade for the third time in the last five games with 19 points. Senior forward
Ashley Anderson tossed in a season-high 17 points, while sophomore guard
Lynsey Timbrouck finished with nine points and three steals.
Assumption never trailed and went on a 9-2 spurt at the 16:04 mark of the first half to go up 17-10. Saint Rose closed to within one, 19-18, following a Timbrouck 3-pointer with 11:10 left. However, Saint Rose managed just three field goals throughout the next nine minutes that allowed the Greyhounds to go in the locker room up 39-31 at the break.
The Golden Knights got to within six, 46-40, when Anderson finished inside with 11:13 to go, but Assumption senior guard Bethany Plasski scored her team's next 11 points via three, 3-pointers and a pair of free throws to keep Saint Rose at bay.
Plasski scored all of her 17 points in the second stanza to pace Assumption. Junior forward Kayla Parker added 14, while junior guard Leslie Lupien finished with 12 points and seven rebounds. Senior guard Trish Gardner handed out nine assists.
Saint Rose returns home to face league rival Saint Michael's on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 1:30 pm. Meanwhile, Assumption heads to Easton, MA Saturday for a 1:30 pm conference date at Stonehill.
