To my Golden Knights family -
I arrived at Saint Rose in August of 2019 and there hasn't been a single day that passed where I haven't felt fortunate and blessed to serve as your athletic director. Â I have loved every second of it. Â Even through some of the most difficult situations we've faced, I've been grateful to be here with my Golden Knights. Â I've always made it my purpose at Saint Rose to do everything within my power to ensure our student-athletes, coaches and administrators were having the best experience possible. Â I have wanted our athlete's college years to be some of their best, and nothing made me happier than to play a small part in their journey. Â I will cherish the memories everyone in our department created for me for the rest of my life.Â
As challenging as things are right now and with all the different emotions I'm feeling, I'm focusing on the one emotion that I keep coming back to, and that's gratitude.  Under the circumstances, it sounds strange, but it's true.  I'm grateful for the time we've all had together, for the relationships we've built, for what we've accomplished, and for how, in spite of our circumstances, we  continue to persevere and shine.Â
Â
We can't change the past, but we can show what being a Golden Knight is all about. Â Being a Golden Knight is an honor, a privilege and an identity that goes far beyond a mascot and wearing the gold and black. Â It's sacrifice, heart, community, discipline, selflessness, passion, commitment and unity. Â It's ambition, it's perseverance, it's FAMILY. Â A family that is going through the toughest of times, but will come ahead stronger and closer than ever. Â
Our family is strong, courageous, resilient and capable of accomplishing anything we put our minds to. Â We will get through this by coming together and supporting each other.Â
Although this hurts, we're in a position to write our own story. Â We won't let others do it for us. We deserve better. Â A new chapter has started and we're finishing this our way. Â We have seasons to finish and ones to begin and memories to create along the way. Â We have the strength to persevere and we will, because we have worked too hard and come too far to stop short of becoming all we're capable of. Â We owe it to ourselves and all those who believe in and support us. Â Although we've been told when our time together will end, it's up to us to determine how it will end. We are not done yet!
Thank you for those who have come before us and all who are here with us now. Â We appreciate you and will make you proud.
Â
