ABOUT GAETA: Known around campus as “AG”…Outstanding all-around athlete…Tireless defender…Can also shoot from the perimeter.

AS A JUNIOR: One of six players to  see action in all 29 games…Contributed 2.0 points and 1.3 rebounds throughout 9.7 minutes of playing time…Twice matched her career-high with nine points during the year…Hit 7-of-8 from the stripe on the way to nine points and four rebounds in an 85-48 win versus Post (11/12/10)…Also hit for nine points on 4-of-9 shooting from the floor in a 63-44 loss at Assumption (2/3/11)…Scored seven points and added two boards in 18 minutes of reserve action in a 63-58 triumph at Bloomfield (11/20/10)…Chipped in five points and a pair of steals in a 71-56 win versus Southern Connecticut State (12/4/10)…Named to both the fall and spring Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner’s Honor Rolls in recognition of academic excellence.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Came off the bench to appear in 26 of the team’s 28 games…Averaged 1.5 points and 1.1 rebounds in 6.8 minutes of reserve action…Scored a career-high nine points on 4-of-6 shooting from the floor in a 60-44 loss at American International (2/6/10)…Contributed six points and went 2-for-2 from the line in a 57-38 win at Saint Anselm (1/16/10)…Wound up with four points at Franklin Pierce (1/9/10) and versus Merrimack (2/28/10)…Also tied her career-best with three assists and hauled in three rebounds against the Warriors in the first round of the league tournament…Named to both the fall and spring NE-10 Commissioner’s Honor Rolls.

AS A FRESHMAN: Averaged 3.2 minutes throughout 19 games…Collected her first collegiate points via a 3-pointer in a 66-44 non-league win at Adelphi (11/25/08)…Scored a bucket and pulled down a rebound in a 67-57 loss at Assumption (12/3/08)…Also tossed in three points thanks to a deep ball in a 62-58 NCAA Tournament setback versus Stonehill (3/13/09).

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-sport athlete as a member of the basketball, soccer and lacrosse teams at Union-Endicott…Won sectional titles in all three sports…Five-year varsity letterwinner in basketball…Garnered All-Conference and All-Metro honors as a junior and senior…Was also chosen as the section IV class “AA” Player of the Year in 2007…Named to the All-Section Team and was a 10th-team class “AA” All-State pick…Team captain…Played on the New York State runner-up squad in soccer…Sixth-team All-State selection and two-time All-Conference performer…Earned second-team All-Division plaudits in lacrosse as a senior…Named the school’s Female Athlete of the Year…Scholar-Athlete throughout all four years of high school and a high honor roll student in every semester.

GENERAL: Dean’s List student…Enjoys listening to music and hanging out with friends and family…Said her family members have had a great influence on her throughout her lifetime…Best sports moment was advancing to the New York State finals in soccer as a junior at Union-Endicott…Would like to become a high school English teacher following her career at Saint Rose.

COACH HAAG ON GAETA: “AG has had a phenomenal preseason thus far. She is focused and ready to contribute. She is such a tough kid, especially on the defensive end. Her ability to shoot from deep combined with a nice mid-range jumper is going to make her difficult to defend this year.”
