BLOOMFIELD, Conn.- The College of Saint Rose women's and men's golf teams each had strong showings at the American International Yellow Jacket Invitational this week, as the Saint Rose women placed second amongst point-scoring teams, and the men earned sixth overall in the respective team standings.
Senior
Erika Fuentes was the two-day leader for the Golden Knight women at par-70 Wintonbury Hills Golf Course. Fuentes logged a 156 (+16) to take a share of fifth place.Â
Senior Kylie Klemme and freshman Angleika Stevens also recorded top-15 finishes for Saint Rose. Klemme posted a 163 (+23) to finish in 11th, while Stevens shot 166 (+26) to tie for 13th.
Playing on the 6711-yard men's course, sophomore
John Russell recorded a 147 (+7), which tied him for seventh place finish.Â
Seniors
John Del Priore (tied-23rd) and
Jack Manning (tied-27th) respectively finished with final scores of 151 (+11) and 153 (+13)
The Saint Rose men next compete on Friday at Saint Thomas Aquinas, while the women's squad returns to action next Wednesday at Saint Anselm.
