HUDSON, N.H. – The College of Saint Rose recorded its two best rounds of the season this weekend to take home fourth place at the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational that wrapped up today at the par-70, 5632-yard Green Meadow Golf Club.
The Golden Knights recorded a 324 team score yesterday and wound up today's second round with a 337 for a two-day 661 total.
Erika Fuentes finished in a three-way tie for second place among 57 competitors to lead the Golden Knights. Fuentes carded a 71 yesterday (+1) and a 76 (+6) today for a two-day 147, three in back of Franklin Pierce's Phisonlaya Ruayruen who captured medalist honors behind a two-day 144 (+4).
The effort marked Fuentes' third top-three finish in as many events this autumn.
Kaylie Klemme fired season-bests, back-to-back rounds of 78 to tie for 10th place behind a two-day 156 (+06) while finishing well out in front of the individual 36-hole scoring average of 87.42.
In addition,
Makenna Cutri and
Angelika Stevens recorded scores of 177 (+37) and 181 (+41) to wind up 37th and 40th respectively.
Lauren Ernst fired a two-day 231.
Looking ahead, the Golden Knights are scheduled to participate in the Ithaca Invitational next Saturday and Sunday at RaNic Golf Club in Ithaca.
