Setting the Stage: The College of Saint Rose enters the Northeast-10 Conference Championship Tournament as the fourth seed in the Southwest Division, while Adelphi is the division's top seed. The Panthers took three of four from the Golden Knights this past weekend in Albany.

Saint Rose in the NE10 Championship: Saint Rose is making its fourth NE10 Championship Tournament appearance since joining the league in 2001. The Golden Knights last reached this juncture in 2016 under a similar setting when as the fourth seed they upset host Adelphi 4-0 in a first round encounter. Saint Rose subsequently advanced to the league final where it fell 5-4 to Southern New Hampshire on the campus of Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H.

Scouting Saint Rose (20-28): The Golden Knights snapped a season-long five game losing streak with Saturday's split versus Adelphi…They are 17-11 when they score first and 3-17 when their opponent takes the first lead…They are also 15-3 when leading after six innings, but 2-24 when trailing at that point…Sophomore right-hander
Randall Alejo has not allowed a run in his last two appearances that span 14.0 innings of work…He has fanned 15 and walked just one throughout that stretch…Alejo owns a 2.45 ERA, which puts him third among the NE10 leaders…He has fanned 62 batters throughout 55.0 innings of work and is holding opposing hitters to a .207 average this spring…Junior right-hander
Jared Restmeyer is 6-2 with a 4.09 ERA, while graduate student righty
Anthony Amoroso is 3-6 with a 3.60 ERA…Sophomore southpaw
Carson Stewart owns a team-best 1.35 ERA in 13 relief appearances that encompass 13.1 innings on the bump…Junior right-hander
Cameron Flynn is 2-1 behind a 2.91 ERA throughout 10 appearances, which include three starts…Junior center fielder
Zephaniah Vaughn tops the team with a .339 batting average (39-for-15) and a .496 slugging percentage…Junior first baseman
Jack McDonald, junior third baseman
Tyler Osborne, and sophomore catcher
Derek Haughey are all batting above .300 this spring…McDonald has now reached base in 22 consecutive games…He leads the team with a .329 (52-for-158) batting average, 30 RBI, a .421 OB%, and an .889 OPS…Osborne is hitting .317 (38-for-142) with a team-high 38 runs scored, while Haughey is batting .313 (45-for-144) with 28 RBI…Both Alejo and McDonald were named to the NE10 weekly honor roll on Monday.

Scouting Adelphi (28-11-2): The Panthers are 20-4 at home this season…They are 21st in the country with a league-leading .331 team batting average…Adelphi also paces the NE10 with a .970 team fielding percentage…Three players are hitting above .390 including junior third baseman Matt Alifano who is batting an NE10 best .411 (62-for-151)…He is also fourth among the conference leaders with 46 RBI…Graduate student right-hander Nicolas Luc is 3-1 with a 3.64 ERA, while freshman right-hander John Rizzo is 7-2 behind a 3.84 ERA.

Looking Ahead: The double elimination portion of the NE10 Championship Tournament is set to begin on Thursday at the highest seed remaining from the Northeast Division.
