Last Time Out: The College of Saint Rose earned a split at Stonehill last Sunday by taking the second game 7-2 after dropping the opener 3-0. Junior right-hander Jared Restmeyer registered another strong performance to lead the Golden Knights in the finale. Restmeyer fanned six and issued only one walk over the 7.0 inning distance to run his record to 3-1 on the year. Freshman center fielder Vince Venditti went 3-for-4 with two RBI, a double, and a home run, to pace the Saint Rose offense. Junior first baseman Jack McDonald also drove in a pair of runs behind a 2-for-4 effort, while freshman catcher Niko Mokanos brought across a pair of runs as well.

Scouting Saint Rose (7-11/2-0 NE10): Restmeyer has given up a mere three earned runs throughout his last three starts that span 21.2 innings…He has held opposing hitters to a .193 batting average and has fanned 26 while walking only nine this spring…Restmeyer was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll Monday…Graduate student right-hander Greg Allard owns a team-leading 2.35 ERA throughout six relief appearances…Sophomore catcher Derek Haughey has a 12 game hitting streak…He leads the team with 15 RBI and a .903 OPS to go along with a .321 batting average…Junior third baseman Tyler Osborne is hitting a team-high .321, while freshman outfielder James Ward and McDonald are batting .300 and .299 respectively…The latter paces the squad with eight multi-hit performances.
 
Scouting Southern Connecticut State (13-3/0-0 NE10): The Owls are receiving votes in both the NCBWA and Collegiate Baseball Magazine National Polls…They are coming off last Saturday's 6-5 win versus Post University in Florida…Freshman catcher/outfielder Billy Sullivan leads the offense with a .424 batting average and 25 runs scored…Graduate student catcher Mike DeMartino has a team-leading 18 RBI…Freshman southpaw Steve Phillips is 4-0 with a 3.54 ERA and 32 strikeouts in 28.0 innings of work.
 
Looking Ahead: Both squads have NE10 Southwest Division series ahead of them next weekend. The Golden Knights travel to Springfield to visit American International, while the Owls host Le Moyne.
