Last Time Out (11/9/19) | Box Score | Sixth-seed Saint Rose put itself in a historic position by advancing on penalty kicks after playing 110 minutes of scoreless soccer in Saturday's Northeast-10 Conference Championship Quarterfinal at third-seed Southern New Hampshire. Senior keeper
Gianni Carillo thwarted three attempts in PKs and junior back
Andrew Lule buried the game-winner for the Golden Knights, who stunned a Penmen program that has won a league record seven postseason titles. Overall, Southern New Hampshire generated a 24-10 shot advantage and an 8-2 corner kick differential, but Carillo made three of his nine saves in the first overtime to keep the host team at bay.
Â
Head Coach John Ciano on Advancing: "I'm just so proud of the resiliency of our group! We knew playing a very talented Southern New Hampshire team at its place was going to always be a tall order, but the belief of this group is truly special. We wanted this one especially for our school and our alumni, and are just so happy right now! It took all 28 guys in our program to get this done."
