COLCHESTER, VT- The College of Saint Rose men's soccer team secured a spot in the Northeast-10 Conference playoffs with a 2-0 victory at Saint Michael's this evening.
The Golden Knights continued their trend of scoring early, as fifth minute strike by graduate forward Jose Clemente marked the third consecutive match in which Saint Rose has netted a goal in the first five minutes.
Clemente headed home a ball in the right side of the box that capped off a scoring sequence that featured assists from graduate midfielder Joao Amaral and sophomore back Daniele Bottazzo.
Saint Rose would double its advantage 30 minutes later when senior forward Hilmar Halldorsson scored from 25 yards away off a feed from senior back Lukas Englich.
Freshman goalkeeper Leopold Dufaut tallied four saves to record his second clean sheet in the last three matches.
The Golden Knights finish the regular season holding a 6-6-4 overall record, with their 4-4-2 mark in the NE10 good enough to secure Saint Rose the fourth seed in postseason play.
