ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose men's soccer team scored a key Northeast-10 Conference victory this afternoon, as the Golden Knights defeated Adelphi 1-0 courtesy of an early first half goal from graduate forward
Jose Clemente.
After taking a feed from senior forward
Hilmar Halldorsson, Clemente placed a right-footed strike at the perfect height to beat Panther goalkeeper Daniel De La Heras in the match's fourth minute.
Freshman goalkeeper
Leopold Dufaut made six saves in net to complete the shutout effort for the Golden Knights. Dufaut was especially clutch in the second half, as he made multiple leaping saves that kept Saint Rose ahead.
Saint Rose celebrated Senior Day prior to the match, with Halldorsson,
Victor Boje Henriksen,
August Carl Jorius,
Lucas Malmquist,
Tomas Rozman, and
Marcello Fazio each receiving recognition in a pregame ceremony.
The Golden Knights will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon as the team travels to Waltham, Mass. to face Bentley at 3:00 pm. Adelphi returns on Saturday at American International.
