ALBANY, N.Y.- The College of Saint Rose men's soccer team took a 1-0 overtime defeat against Saint Anselm tonight in Northeast-10 Conference quarterfinal action at Sullivan Field.
The visiting Hawks, the number five seed, upended the fourth-seeded Golden Knights courtesy of a 91st minute goal by forward Zach Verow.
The two squads played a scoreless 90 minutes of regulation, prompting a pair of 10-minute overtime sessions to settle who would advance to the NE10 semifinals.
Verow netted his game-winner with 53 seconds gone in overtime, as he slid a shot past freshman goalkeeper
Leopold Dufaut on the far post.
Dufaut saved three shots in net to keep the Golden Knights in the match.
Saint Rose caps the 2023 season with an overall record of 6-7-4.
