Pink Out: Presented by DC's Pizza and Catering, the 2015 Pink Out will feature exciting entertainment and a number promotions throughout Saturday's double header. The first 100 fans will receive a free slice of pizza, while the first 250 fans are eligible for a free pink reusable shopping bag. All proceeds from ticket sales, donations and merchandise will benefit Camp BraveHearts and the Albany chapter of ConKerr Cancer. The Shooting Stars AAU squad will play at halftime of the women's game, while the Guilderland Dance Team will perform during the break of the men's game. Also during halftime of the men's game, a check will be presented to representatives of Camp BraveHearts and Conkerr Cancer. Both organizations will have table displays set up in the main lobby throughout the afternoon.
Series: Saint Rose leads 15-8
Last time we met: The Hawks sent Saint Rose home with a 77-61 loss in Manchester, N.H., last season as Tori Lehr '14 knocked down 24 points and nabbed seven rebounds on the night. Briana Jones '14 tallied 18 points from the floor, and swiped a team-high four steals. Saint Anselm held a 43-28 advantage at the half, and collected the win after a 34-33 effort in the second. Despite the loss, the Golden Knights led in the paint with 38 points. Desiree Simmons '14 was among four Golden Knights to post double figures as she led with 14.
Jamie Hutcheson and
Staci Barrett each added 11, while
Jess DeNicola registered 10. Hutcheson and Barrett also led on the boards with seven apiece, while Hutcheson also racked up three steals.
Scouting Saint Rose (8-9, 4-7 NE-10): The Golden Knights have won four of their last five after a 74-56 victory in the battle of the Knights at Saint Michael's Wednesday evening. Hutcheson leads the Golden Knights on both sides of the ball with 11.1 points and 7.8 boards per-game. Hutcheson also leads in steals (26) and assists (56). Senior forward
Mariah Lesure sits just behind Hutcheson with 10.9 points per-game, while ranking fourth in the
Northeast-10 Conference in field goal percentage (54.1). Senior guard
Gabie Polce dished out a career-high 11 assists in the win over Georgian Court, and ranks 12th in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.45). The Golden Knights post a .427 field goal percentage while averaging 63.6 points per game, while 14th-year head coach #
Karen Haag# is just three wins away from her 300th career victory, making her just one of just 40 Division II head coaches to reach that pinnacle.
Scouting Saint Anselm (5-12, 3-9 NE-10): Currently holding a 1-4 mark through their last five games, the Hawks have dropped seven contests this month. Sophomore guard Caitlyn Abela leads the young squad offensively and ranks 10th in the Northeast-10 with 14.7 points per-game, followed by fellow guard Candace Andrews with 12.6. Sophomore forward Kaila Duarte leads from the glass with 10.4 rebounds per-game, while also chipping in 8.7 points on the average.
