GOLDEN KNIGHTS PLAY TO 1-1 DRAW WITH MOLLOY

ALBANY–Freshman midfielder Kledis Capollari scored a goal in the 84th minute of Thursday night's 2014 season opener for The College of Saint Rose allowed it to draw a 1-1 tie with non-conference foe Molloy College at Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex. 
 
Molloy's (0-0-1) freshman forward Lucas Munoz opened scoring in the final 10 minutes of the game when he received a pass from junior midfielder Lester Franco just a few yards above the goal line, and snuck the ball into the far corner.
 
The Golden Knights (0-0-1) answered less than two minutes later as senior back Spencer Franks assisted Capollari with a diving cross from 25 yards out, and gave the freshman time to take a touch and send the ball deep into the side netting from the top of the box.
 
Both overtime periods were rendered scoreless, but were not without opportunities. Saint Rose outshot the Lions 18-9, and had eight chances from the corner compared to Molloy's three on the night.
 
Junior keeper Colan Balkwell recorded five saves in net and allowed the lone goal.
 
The Golden Knights return to the pitch on Saturday, September 6 when they host Daemon College at 1:00 pm at Sullivan Field.
