Last Time Out: Saint Thomas Aquinas scored three times in the opening 14 minutes for what proved to be barely enough to upend The College of Saint Rose 3-2 last Wednesday evening. The Golden Knights countered with two strikes three minutes apart late in the first half, but were never able to find the equalizer. Freshman midfielder Kledis Capollari and sophomore forward Joshua Hanif both scored for Saint Rose, while junior midfielder Nick Iuorno and freshman midfielder Matthew Nocito each had an assist. Sophomore keeper Christian Esposito and junior Colan Balkwell made a collective six saves for the Golden Knights, while senior Nicholas Palumbo turned aside three shots at the other end for the visiting Spartans.

Last Meeting (9/17/13): Saint Rose made the most of its opportunities to upend host New Haven 3-0. The Golden Knights were outshot by a 21-14 margin, including a 14-5 differential in the second half, and did not manufacture a corner kick as opposed to 10 for the Chargers. However, Balkwell turned aside all six shots-on-goal he faced in the second half to keep New Haven off the board. Furthermore, Esposito came up with a save in the opening 45 minutes to allow the Golden Knights to take a 2-0 halftime lead. Juan Garzon, Jacob Sand, and Uros Antic each scored unassisted to account for the three Saint Rose tallies. Garzon found the back of the net with 22:08 gone by for what proved to be the game-winner. Antic then made it 2-0 five minutes later, before Sand added the final marker in the 83rd minute.

Scouting Saint Rose (0-2-1/0-0-0 NE-10): Tonight marks the final of four consecutive home matches to open the season for the Golden Knights. It is also the Northeast-10 Conference opener for both squads. Capollari paces the Saint Rose scoring parade with two goals throughout the young season. Balkwell owns a 1.10 goals-against-average in all but 45 of the squad's 290 minutes.

Scouting New Haven (1-2-0/0-0-0):
The Chargers scored all four of their goals in the first half to upend visiting Felician 4-0 Saturday. Senior forward Andres Torres scored twice in the opening 20 minutes, before freshmen forwards Louis Tambini and Frank Norosky struck less than three minutes apart in the latter stages to close out the scoring. Torres now has three goals on the year, which places him in a tie for fourth among the NE-10 leaders.

Up Next: The Golden Knights play their first road match of the year Saturday when they travel to Waltham, MA to face NE-10 rival Bentley. Kickoff is set for 1:00 pm. Meanwhile, New Haven is also on the road Saturday. The Chargers will head north for a 7:00 pm meeting at defending national champion Southern New Hampshire in Manchester.
