Series: SCSU leads 16-14

Last time we met: After sitting tied at 36 at the half, Saint Rose outscored the Owls 39-31 in the second half to come away with the 75-67 win in Albany last February. The Golden Knights grabbed 22 points off the bench, and 19 off 16 Owl turnovers. Senior guard Gabie Polce knocked down 22 points and grabbed three steals and four rebounds to lead Saint Rose. Fellow guard Jamie Hutcheson grabbed 12 points of her own, followed by senior center Jess DeNicola with 10. Polce went 5-for-5 from the line, and 3-for-7 from beyond the arc. Junior forward Jackie Bethea paced SCSU with 24 points and 14 boards for the double-double. Keshia Primo '14 and senior guard Sydni Lester followed with 10 points each, and Primo dished out a team-high seven assists.  

Scouting Saint Rose (3-3, 1-2 NE-10): The Golden Knights bounced back from a pair of losses last week with a 74-50 non-conference win over Goldey-Beacom Monday night. Hutcheson sank a season-high 17 points over the Lightning, and she leads Saint Rose with 12.5 points and 8.5 boards per-game. Her 24 assists are also a team-high. Sophomore forward Staci Barrett holds an 11.0 scoring average, and a team-best 10-for-17 mark from the free throw line. The Golden Knights post a .408 field goal percentage while averaging 60.2 points per game.

Scouting Southern Connecticut (1-4, 1-1 NE-10): The Owls went 1-1 last week, claiming their only win of the season so far over pace (59-52). Beathea registers 14.0 points and 12.8 boards per-game to lead SCSU, followed by sophomore forward Taylor McLaughlin with 10.6 and 5.0, respectively. McLaughlin and Lester both hold .810 averages from the line, while sophomore guard Maria Weselyj shoots a team-best 6-for-10 from 3-point range.

Up next: Saint Rose heads to Southern New Hampshire on Saturday, December 13 before returning to Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium on Wednesday, December 17 against New Haven at 5:30 pm.
