Box Score

EASTON, MA –The College of Saint Rose outshot host Stonehill 13-7, including 9-4 in the second half, and manufactured six corner kicks while yielding only a pair, but the Skyhawks scored once in each period to upend the Golden Knights 2-0 in the Northeast-10 Conference opener for both clubs this afternoon.

Freshman midfielder Uros Antic directed four shots-on-goal and senior forward Jacob Sand fired three others on target to lead the Saint Rose (2-2/0-1 NE-10) charge.

However, sophomore back Evan Devanny and sophomore forward Drew Montano both registered their first strikes of the year, while junior keeper Adam Colella made seven of his 11 saves throughout the final 45 minutes to pace Stonehill (2-2/1-0 NE-10).

The Skyhawks registered what proved to be the game-winner with 31:59 elapsed when sophomore midfielder RJ Aprile delivered a corner kick that Devanny headed into the top left corner. Montano then added an insurance marker with 25 minutes remaining in the contest.

Looking ahead, both squads are on the road with 4:00 pm conference matches Tuesday. The Golden Knights travel to West Haven, CT to face the University of New Haven while the Skyhawks head north to Manchester, NH to meet Saint Anselm.
