Live Stats | NE-10 Standings

The Plot: The Golden Knights and Dolphins resume the second annual and year-long “Upstate Challenge” rivalry series today. Le Moyne currently leads the 2012-13 version by a 7.0 -6.0 margin

Last Time Out: Saint Rose was held scoreless throughout the final eight innings after taking a 1-0 lead and thus fell 2-1 in a crisp pitcher's duel that took a mere two hours and one minute to complete at UMass Lowell last night. Sophomore right-hander Chris Gould was the tough-luck loser for the Golden Knights. Gould allowed only two runs on four hits and fanned six throughout 8.0 innings of work.

Scouting Saint Rose: Freshman shortstop/third baseman Chad Adams has raised his batting average 46 points from .222 to .268 throughout the last 15 games. He has hit at a .315 (17-for-54) clip and has posted a .393 on-base percentage during that span. He now leads the Golden Knights with 10 multi-hit games on the year. Sophomore left-hander Bryan Carr has given up three or fewer runs in each of his last three starts. He has worked an average of 7.0 innings during that stretch. Saint Rose is now 4-8 in one-run games this spring following last night's setback.

Scouting Le Moyne: The Dolphins have won three of their last five games entering today. Sophomore left-hander Ryan Davis is holding opposing hitters to a .206 batting average. Junior outfielder Nate Reynolds paces Le Moyne with a .444 slugging percentage on the strength of eight extra base hits.

Up Next: The Golden Knights open a three-game weekend series at home Saturday versus conference division rival New Haven. Saturday's doubleheader gets underway at 12:00 pm as part of Take A Kid to the Game festivities. The two teams will wrap-up the weekend Sunday at 1:00 pm. Meanwhile, the Dolphins have a similar home schedule this weekend with a three-game series versus Southern Connecticut State.
