RICHMOND, VA – The College of Saint Rose suffered a pair of losses to Mansfield during the first day of action on its annual spring trip today. The Golden Knights (1-4) dropped the opener 11-4 and fell 16-6 in the finale.
The Mounties (2-0) put three runs on the board in the first inning of the first game and scored four times in the initial frame of the second contest to assume control.

Scott Hladik had an RBI double and drove in another run on a ground out to lead the Golden Knights in the opener. Junior second baseman

Derek Reed also had base hits.
Senior center fielder Dylan Woodworth and sophomore left fielder Stephen Stopper pounded out three hits each to lead Mansfield in its season-opener.
In the finale, Reed stroked an RB triple in the first while Capone belted a two-run homer in the third. Junior right fielder Seth Tressler wound up 3-for-3 with four runs scored and two RBI for Mansfield.
Looking ahead, the Golden Knights are scheduled to meet Bloomsburg (PA) tomorrow at 1:00 pm in Richmond. Meanwhile, Mansfield will face Slippery Rock on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
