Last Time Out: A run miday through the second half allowed host Assumption to upend Saint Rose 68-58 Wednesday night. The Golden Knights were outscored in the second half 42-31 after leading by one, 27-26, at the break. Sophomore guard
Gabie Polce finished with a team-high 16 points coupled with three assists. Senior forward
Maria Sanchez Gonzalez grabbed 18 rebounds to tie a career-high and help Saint Rose control a 48-27 advantage on the boards. Senior guard Gabrielle Gibson fell one point shy of a career-high, finishing with 31 points for the Greyhounds.
Last Meeting (12/8/12): Holding Saint Rose to a season-low 27.3 shooting percentage (12-of-44), host American International led wire-to-wire for a 65-40 victory. Sophomore center
Mariah Lesure was the lone Golden Knight to reach double-figures behind 11 points. Senior forward
Jessica Walton contribued four points, seven rebounds, and a block; while senior forward
Kimberly Van Bourgondien added six points in 12 minutes off the bench. American International generated a substantial advantage in rebounding, 52-30, with freshman center Sydney Tepley hauling in a game-high nine coupled with a like number of points. Sophomore guard Alyssa Roach registered a game-high 15 points behind 3-of-5 shooting from 3-point range.
Scouting Saint Rose (9-15/6-14 NE-10): Saint Rose has now lost three in a row after a season-long three-game win streak. Polce has scored in double-figures for seven straight games. The Golden Knights own a +5.1 rebounding margin this season. Sanchez Gonzalez and Walton are both among the top 12 NE-10 rebounders. Lesure leads the NE-10 with 2.0 blocks per-game while Walton is fifth at 1.4 per-game.
Scouting American International (13-11/9-11 NE-10) American International trailed wire-to-wire as it dropped a 70-56 NE-10 contest to visiting New Haven Wednesday night. Junior guard Sarah Noble scored a game-high 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the floor to lead the Yellow Jackets. Roach is fifth in the in assists per-game. Tepley and sophomore forward Krista Ferrentino rank fifth and seventh respectively in rebounding. Amerian International is first in the NE-10 with a +5.9 reboudning margin, which includes 16.6 offensive rebounds per-game.
Senior Day: Prior to the start of today's game, four seniors will honored by the College for their dedication to the women's basketball program. The group consists of
