MILKA NAMED TO CAPITAL ONE ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA® MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM

Junior center Dominykas Milka is one of a mere 15 student-athletes from throughout the country who have been named to the Capital One Academic All-America® Division II Men's Basketball Team.


ALBANY – Junior center Dominykas Milka has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America® Division II men's basketball team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Milka, a second-team pick, is among a select group of just 15 student-athletes, representing Division II institutions from throughout the country, who have been bestowed with this prestigious honor.

Milka, who carriers a 3.57 GPA as an accounting major, is currently averaging 17.6 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.04 blocks, 2.5 assists, and 1.2 steals for the Golden Knights (12-12/9-11 NE-10). He is also shooting 51.1 percent (170-for-333) from the floor and is second in the nation (Division II) in rebounding and “double-doubles” (15). Milka is furthermore the only player in the Northeast-10 Conference who is among the top-five in both scoring and rebounding. He has been named the NE-10 Player of the Week on two occasions this season.

To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.

Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America® honors on more than 20,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
