SAINT ROSE ROLLS IN HOME OPENER

ALBANY-The College of Saint Rose won its home opener tonight with a 96-63 victory against Felician during the first day of the Northeast-10 Challenge that is being presented by the Hilton Garden Inn-Albany Medical Center.

The Golden Knights (1-2) shot 53.6 percent (37-for-69) from the floor, handed out 28 assists with only seven turnovers, and got 45 points from its bench. Saint Rose closed out the first half on a 20-11 run to walk in the locker room up 49-31 and owned no less than a 20 point advantage during the game's final 12 minutes.

Senior center Dominykas Milka recorded his third "double-double" in as many games this season with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman guards Mical-Ryan Boyd and Isaiah Cosbert jumped off the pine to contribute 13 and 11 points respectively, while sophomore forward Tyler Sayre wound up with 12 points and six boards.

For Felician (1-3), junior forward J.R. Pringley had 12 points and six rebounds.

In tonight's first game, fellow Northeast-10 Conference member Saint Anselm (1-1) shot 59.7 percent (37-for-62) from the floor and buried 15 3-pointers on the way to a 113-73 win versus Chestnut Hill (2-2). Junior guard Roy Mabrey and senior guard John Nielsen scored 28 and 25 points respectively to lead the Hawks. Meanwhile, senior guard Jakeem Bogans scored 19 for the Griffins.

Looking ahead, the Northeast-10 Challenge will continue tomorrow. Saint Rose will take on Chestnut Hill at 5:00 pm, while Saint Anselm will meet Felician at 3:00 pm.
