The Plot: The College of Saint Rose welcomes New York Institute of Technology for a non-conference match at Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex this evening.  Tonight's match will also be streamed live on www.gogoldenknights.tv

Last Meeting (9/15/11): Junior midfielder Vinny Caccavale scored 16 minutes into the first half for the only strike in a 1-0 win for the Bears. Keeper Patrik Ohlsson made five saves to keep it a one goal game as NYIT generated a 17-4 shot advantage. The Golden Knights threatened during the 30th minute as Taras Panchishak had a shot hit the post before sophomore forward Jeff Kozlowski forced sophomore keeper Liam Waddy to make his only save of the match.

Scouting Saint Rose (0-5/0-3 NE-10): The Golden Knights allowed two goals in the final 15 minutes in Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Northeast-10 Conference rival Saint Michael's. Freshman midfielder Massimo Smiroldo came away with the first goal of the game in the 39th minute to give Saint Rose a 1-0 lead. The Purple Knights then scored three unanswered times to claim the victory. Smiroldo now has a team-high three points behind a goal and an assist. Kozlowski also has a goal to his credit this season.

Scouting NYIT (1-3-1/0-1 ECC): The Bears came away with a 1-1 draw against visiting West Chester (PA) this past Sunday on Long Island. Caccavale scored on a penalty kick just a few minutes into the second half while West Chester drew even with less than two minutes remaining in regulation. In five matches, the Bears have scored three goals while yielding seven. Waddy has registered all of the team's 480 minutes between the posts. He owns a 1.31 goals-against-average and has made 10 saves.

Up Next: Saint Rose continues play on its home pitch this Saturday when conference foe Saint Anselm visits for a 1:00 pm start. Meanwhile, NYIT is back on the road Sunday with a 3:30 pm league date at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
