Box Score ALBANY – A second half surge by The College of Saint Rose went for naught as the Golden Knights could not get the equalizer in a 1-0 loss to
Northeast-10 Conference rival Assumption tonight at
Sullivan Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex.
The Golden Knights (0-4/0-2 NE-10) generated a 9-5 shot advantage and a manufactured six corner kicks, while yielding only a pair, throughout the final 45 minutes. Regardless, a strike by Assumption senior forward Dom Mondi in the 34th minute proved to be the difference. Mondi collected the ball on the left flank and managed to push it through several players before it snuck inside the lower right-corner.
Assumption (2-1/1-0 NE-10) controlled the pace from that point until there were about 15 minutes elapsed in the second half when the Golden Knights stepped up the pressure. Sophomore forward
Jeff Kozlowski drove a shot from the right flank in the 63rd minute that ricocheted off the inside of the left post, but somehow failed to roll over the goal line to sum the Saint Rose evening.
Senior midfielder
Zak Duguay then drove a shot in the final minute that forced Assumption freshman keeper Dana King to be on his toes.

Nick Iuorno and junior midfielder
Dylan Klippenstein both managed to generate three shots apiece for the Golden Knights.
Saint Rose senior keeper
James Taber wound up with three saves, while King turned aside four threats-on-target for Assumption to keep the Golden Knights off the scoreboard.
Looking ahead, the Golden Knights travel to Saint Michael's for a 12:00 pm conference game this Saturday, September 15 in Colchester, VT. Assumption is also in action on Saturday as the Greyhounds host UMass Lowell for a 1:00 pm contest in Worcester, MA.
