Patrik Ohlsson made six saves for the Golden Knights while senior Matt Wrenn came up with three saves for the Greyhounds. Senior forward Dom Mondi tallied a goal and an assist for Assumption.
Scouting Saint Rose (0-3/0-1 NE-10): The Golden Knights opened the 2012 campaign with two one-goal losses to Goldey-Beacom and Felician during their own Kickoff Tournament. Saint Rose began conference play last Wednesday, September 5, with a 4-0 setback at NE-10 rival Southern Connecticut State. Sophomore forward
Jeff Kozlowski leads the team in scoring with one goal on two shots this season. Senior keeper
James Taber has registered eight saves in three matches, playing every minute between the posts thus far.
Scouting Assumption (1-1/0-0 NE-10): The Greyhounds started the season with a 1-0 win versus St. Thomas Aquinas followed by a 3-0 loss to visiting LIU Post. Senior midfielder Tom Carroll is responsible for the lone-goal on the season for Assumption, putting in a penalty kick during the victory against St. Thomas Aquinas. Freshman keeper Dana King has played in both matches for the Greyhounds, logging a 1.50 goals-against-average to go along with six saves.
Up Next: Saint Rose travels to Saint Michael's for a 12:00 pm conference game this Saturday, September 15 in Colchester, VT. Saint Michael's enters this week as the top scoring team in the conference behind 23 goals in four games. Assumption is also in action on Saturday, as the Greyhounds host UMass Lowell for a 1:00 pm contest.
