ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose is set to welcome Adelphi University to Albany for a Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division doubleheader this afternoon. The first pitch of game one is set for 12:00 pm from Bob Bellizzi Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex.

2011 vs. Adelphi (2-1)
The Golden Knights took two of three from the Panthers last spring. The two clubs split the first two meetings with Saint Rose claiming a 4-3 win and Adelphi earning a 6-1 decision. The Golden Knights walked away with a 6-4 triumph in 12-innings to take the regular-season series.

Last Time Out
Saint Rose scored in four of the last five innings to upend host Assumption 8-3 in an NE-10 Southwest Division game Wednesday afternoon in Worcester, MA. The Greyhounds pulled to within 4-3 with a run in the seventh, but the Golden Knights answered with a pair in the eighth and two more in the ninth. Senior infielder/right-hander Nick Polsinelli made the most of his first start of the year at his customary second base position by going 4-for-5 with three RBI. Meanwhile, freshman right-hander Nick Venier came on with two outs in the seventh and stranded the potential tying run at third. Venier wound up allowing just one hit throughout 2.1 innings of shutout ball to collect his first collegiate save.  Sophomore right fielder Brian Maynard finished 3-for-5 with four runs scored, while junior catcher #A.J. Capone had a pair of RBI base hits. Freshman shortstop Ryan Hooker also drove in a pair of runs and senior southpaw Justin Brooks# allowed three runs on eight hits in 6.2 innings of work en route to the win.

Saint Rose Diamond Notes
The Golden Knights are scheduled to host their final home weekend series of the year starting today. Saint Rose has scored three runs or more in all 12 of its wins this season. The Golden Knights have had 46 batters hit by a pitch this year, which ranks fourth in the league. They lead the NE-10 in sacrifice flies (6) and are seventh in stolen bases (52). Junior designated hitter Caleb Gleason has at least a hit in 29 of the 35 games he has started this season. He had his six-game hitting streak snapped on Wednesday, although he walked twice and scored a run. Freshman southpaw Bryan Carr has allowed only five earned runs throughout his last five starts that cover 28.0 innings.

Adelphi Diamond Notes
Adelphi reached the 20-win plateau for the eighth consecutive season following Thursday's 7-3 win versus Molloy. The Panthers have won five of their last six games with the lone loss coming via a 4-3 setback in 11 innings at Southern Connecticut State on Wednesday. They are hitting a collective .268, which ranks sixth in the NE-10. Signore leads the way with a .386 (32-for-83) average. Zarrella has provided superb power numbers thus far. He paces the squad with 37 RBI, 12 doubles and six home runs at this juncture. Zarrella is also slugging .550, which ranks fifth in the conference. Junior right-hander Dillon McNamara has 30 strikeouts over a team-high 49.1 innings on the mound this year.

Looking ahead, the two teams are scheduled to conclude their three-game weekend series with a 12:00 pm start tomorrow at Bellizzi Field.
