Game Coverage: Live Stats | Northeast-10 Conference Standings

ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose is set to welcome Southern Connecticut State University to Albany for a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader this afternoon. Game one is set for noon from Bob Bellizzi Field at the Plumeri Sports Complex.

Last Time Out
Host Le Moyne College got a timely base hit in the third, although the hurlers from both squads were virtually untouchable all afternoon as the Dolphins walked away with a 1-0 NE-10 victory over Saint Rose on Thursday. Senior southpaw Justin Brooks recorded six strikeouts and walked only one in 8.0 innings of action for the Golden Knights. Brooks scattered seven hits along the way, only one for extra bases. Le Moyne, which is ranked #14 in the latest Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA Division II Poll, received 8.1 strong innings from junior right-hander Casey Cannon. Cannon yielded only three hits and registered four strikeouts. Sophomore right fielder Brian Maynard worked a walk to lead off the sixth and stole second following a pair of flyball outs. He was stranded in scoring position after junior catcher #A.J. Capone# flied out. In the ninth, Capone smacked a leadoff single but was later caught stealing. Junior shortstop Kyle Charron was then issued a walk to chase Cannon from the mound. However, junior right-hander Kevin Carroll came out of the pen and retired the final two Saint Rose batters in order.

2011 vs. Southern Connecticut State (0-2)
The Owls swept the regular-season series a year ago by respective scores of 3-0 and 8-4.

Saint Rose Diamond Notes
Saint Rose is playing only its seventh and eighth home games of the year today. The Golden Knights have had 14 games on the road thus far. Saint Rose has had 39 batters hit by a pitch this year, which ranks third in the league. Junior designated hitter Caleb Gleason has at least a hit in 23 of the 27 games he has started this season. Gleason has hit safely in five straight games as well. Freshman southpaw Bryan Carr has allowed only three earned runs in his last three starts that cover 15.0 innings. Carr has collected 10 strikeouts over that span.

Southern Connecticut State Diamond Notes
Southern is ranked #25 in the latest Baseball College Lineup NCAA Division II Poll that was released on Tuesday. The Owls lead the all-time series 22-11 against Saint Rose.
