LANTANA, FL – The College of Saint Rose ran its win streak to four games with an 8-6 victory versus Concordia (NY) this afternoon at the Palm Beach Challenge.

Seven different players had at least one hit for the Golden Knights (4-2) including junior second baseman Kyle Charron who went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Meanwhile, freshman right-hander Bryan Carr and sophomore right-hander Mack Naughton collectively tossed 3.0 innings of one-hit ball in relief of senior right-hander Alex Ferenti who picked up the win. Naughton retired the side in order in the ninth for the save.

Saint Rose never trailed after putting up two runs in the top of the first. The Golden Knights then made it 3-2 in the third and broke it open with a four-run fourth, before tacking on one more in the sixth.

Charron got the afternoon off on the right foot by stroking a double to the right-center field gap that scored junior catcher #A.J. Capone#. Two batters later, senior first baseman Daniel Marshall pushed across Charron with a base hit to center to make it 2-0 Saint Rose.

Senior center fielder Nikko Wahl then scored on a double steal in the third and Charron accounted for most of the damage in the fourth via a two-run single to left. Earlier in the inning, Wahl drew a bases loaded walk that brought across sophomore third baseman Jevonte Osterhout and Capone drove a sacrifice fly to center that scored Maynard. Capone later added an RBI base hit in the sixth.

Osterhout wound up 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored, while Maynard finished 2-for-4 to extend his hit streak to five games.

Senior center fielder Jason Berrios finished 3-for-5 with a leadoff double in the first and a solo home run in the sixth to pace Concordia. Meanwhile, freshman right-hander Andrew Worth held the Golden Knights hitless over the final 1.2 innings to keep the Clippers (0-8) within striking distance.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose has a 2:00 pm doubleheader versus Wilmington tomorrow in Lantana. Concordia on the other hand is off until Thursday's 3:00 pm return date with the Golden Knights.
