Northeast-10 Conference Southwest Division victory this afternoon at Assumption.
Junior second baseman
Kyle Charron finished 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, while sophomore center fielder
Justin Lewis, freshman shortstop
Ryan Hooker and junior catcher #A.J. Capone# had two hits each to pace the Golden Knights (7-12/1-4 NE-10).
On the mound, freshman left-hander
Bryan Carr allowed just a run on five hits throughout 6.0 innings of work to collect his first collegiate victory.
Junior shortstop Shane Keddy wound up 4-for-4 to lead the Greyhounds (6-8/0-3 NE-10).
Hooker opened the fourth with an infield single, stole second and then scored on a sacrifice fly by senior right fielder
Nikko Wahl to make it 2-1 Saint Rose. Five batters later, Hladik cleared the bases and then in the sixth Charron singled to center that brought around Lewis with the game's final tally.
In the first, senior first baseman
Daniel Marshall had an RBI groundout that put the Golden Knights ahead until Assumption tied it in the fourth on a Keddy solo shot over the center field fence.
Looking ahead, Saint Rose has a three-game series at conference rival Pace University in Pleasantville this weekend. The two teams will a play a 12:00 pm doubleheader Saturday and then wrap up the series at the same time Sunday. Assumption on the other hand has a 3:30 pm league date at Stonehill in Easton, MA tomorrow.
