THREE GOALS IN EACH HALF PROPELS #20 SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE PAST SAINT ROSE

Junior midfielder Dylan Klippenstein assisted on Saint Rose's lone strike this evening.
Box Score MANCHESTER, NH – Southern New Hampshire University scored three goals in each half to pick up a home victory against The College of Saint Rose earlier this evening at Larkin Field in Northeast-10 Conference action. 
 
Sophomore forward Ercan Kilic tallied the Golden Knights (1-15/1-11 NE-10) only goal of the contest during the second half.  Senior keeper James Taber made nine saves. 

Southern New Hampshire (13-3/9-3 NE-10) was led by senior midfielder Andrew Mattarazzo who had a goal and two assists.  Senior forward Chris Tsonis led all goal scorers behind two strikes while freshman midfielder Sebastian Stezewski added two assists in the effort.  In the net, senior keeper Mark Painchurd was forced to only make one save.

The Penmen, who ranked #20 in this week's NSCAA/Continetla Tire Top-25 Poll, held the advantage in shots taken, 21-9, althiough the Golden Knight created eight of their shots during the second half. Southern New Hampshire also held the advantage in corner kicks, 5-4. 
 
Mattarazzo and Tsonis connected on the first two strikes within the opening 14 minutes.  The first was a header Tsonis put in off a throw in by Mattarazzo while the second was a created off a pass from the top of the box.  Senior back Austin Britt capped the Penmen scoring in the first half on a header off a corner kick from freshman back Jonathan Lupinelli.
 
Southern New Hampshire created in the first minute of the second half to go up 4-0 as sophomore midfielder Mohamed Toufik redirected a shot by sophomore midfielder Brian Mas, who collected a pass from Stezewski.  Stezweski then picked up his second assist of the day as his initial shot was rebounded and put in by sophomore forward Kenny Doublette.
 
Saint Rose got on the board in the 67th minute as junior midfielder Dylan Klippenstein crossed a ball in for Kilic from the left side.  Kilic finished the pass on the right side of the net to pick up his first goal of the season.
 
In the final five minutes, Mattarazzo closed out the scoring.
 
Saint Rose will play its season finale on Friday when the Golden Knights travel to North Andover, MA for a 4:00 pm match at conference rival Merrimack.  Southern New Hampshire also completes its regular season docket this Friday with a 7:00 pm meeting at American International in Springfield.
