SAINT ROSE SWEEPS DOMINICAN TO WIN HOME OPENER

Senior outside hitter Sarah Kahrs finished with nine kills and six digs tonight
ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team forced visiting Dominican College into 24 errors and committed only 10 miscues of its own to win its second straight via a 3-0 win over the Chargers tonight at Nolan Gymnasium. The Golden Knights took a pair of close 25-21 and 25-23 decisions in the first two sets and then cruised to a 25-16 win in the third set to cap things.

Senior outside hitter Aubrey Bobo led a balanced attack for Saint Rose (2-2). Bobo finished with 11 kills, six digs and hit .333 in the contest. Meanwhile, senior outside hitter Sarah Kahrs collected nine kills, six digs and a pair of aces.

On the defensive side of the net, freshmen defensive specialists Katy Daniels and Tori Daniels each had outstanding performances. Katy led the Golden Knights with 17 digs, while her twin sister Tori picked up eight digs and handed out 11 assists.

Sophomore right side hitter Randi Garrett and freshman middle hitter Kayla Dexter paved the way for Dominican (2-2). Garrett wound up with 10 kills and four blocks, while Dexter had eight kills and hit .333.

Saint Rose has a minor break in the schedule after playing four matches in six days. The Golden Knights will have the weekend off before welcoming Post University to Nolan Gymnasium at 7:00 pm Tuesday. Dominican is set to appear in the Yellow Jacket Invitational this weekend. The Chargers take on host American International at 4:00 pm Friday before meeting St. Mary's University (TX) at 8:00 pm.
