KUTZTOWN, PA – The College of Saint Rose women's volleyball team bounced back from a setback earlier in the day to sweep University of the Sciences in Philadelphia 3-0 to cap its two-day stay at the Kutztown Classic this afternoon. The Golden Knights suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of C.W. Post in today's opener.
Saint Rose (1-2) grabbed 25-18, 25-14 and 25-22 victories to pick up its first win of the 2011 campaign against the Devils (0-3). A pair of freshmen setters in
Ariana Wilson and
Tori Daniels ran the offense to the tune of 19 and 17 assists respectively. Also, freshman defensive specialist
Katy Daniels led the Golden Knights with 15 digs and three aces.
Junior right side hitter
Kaitlyn Jasnica capped off an efficient afternoon by hitting .450 in the nightcap. Jasnica wound up with nine kills on 20 swings without an error. Against the Pioneers, Jasnica finished with seven kills in 12 attempts with only one miscue. Sophomore middle hitter
Alex Gagliano added six kills as well.
In the opener, Saint Rose took a 1-0 lead following a 25-22 triumph in the first set. However, C.W. Post responded with 25-15, 25-22 and 25-16 victories to seal things.

Aubrey Bobo paved the way for the Golden Knights with 12 kills, eight digs and a pair of blocks. Meanwhile, senior outside hitter
Sarah Kahrs wound up with seven digs and five kills.
Saint Rose returns to action Thursday night when the Golden Knights welcome Dominican College to Nolan Gymnasium for their 2011 home-opener. The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm.
